Beautiful trekking route leading from Les Contamines Montjoie near the Le Glacier de Tré-La-Tête glacier and the Dômes de Miage summit (3673 m a.s.l.). The beginning of the route to the Tré La Tête shelter is relatively easy, though steeply uphill in many places. From the shelter towards the glacier, a red trail leads, requiring additional equipment (ice axe, crampons, helmet) and climbing skills. Generally, guidebooks say it's best to tackle this route early summer when snow covers it, facilitating passage. Despite July 2 qualifying as early summer, I did not identify snow in this area. The glacier also lost significant volume due to high temperatures already in spring this year.
