Orso Circuit loop in an unusual snowless January on the slopes of Monte Menna. We start from Zorzone and following trail 234 which climbs into Val Carnera we reach cascina Mattuida, we continue climbing for about 5 minutes and at the height of a small wall supporting a water puddle we turn left and follow the trail leading to Passo dell’Orso, the highest point of the hike. From here we descend on a grassy slope passing a water collection pool and shortly after to a baita where in summer the malgari produce cheese from the milk of grazing cows. We descend crossing a secular beech forest and pass by baita Amici del Menna where continuing on a dirt road we return to Val Carnera and Zorzone. Hike not recommended in presence of snow.
