Description:
The route starts from a designated parking area accessed via a track taken at a sharp bend 4 km downhill from Gabas in the French Pyrenees.
A few minutes into the walk, we pass the wooden Goua bridge. We find ourselves immersed in the spectacular wet forest of Herrana, under which we spend quite some time. Shortly after the bridge, we reach a wooden signpost and take the GR10 (Gourette) to the left. The path ascends through the trees and, quite high up, passes under the Tume cliff, before leaving the forest behind and enjoying beautiful views. The path seems headed to the extensive Soussouéou valley (what a name), but after a while, we turn left toward the hanging valley of Cézy, which has a shepherds' hut. At that point, our objective is clearly in sight.
