Description:
Ascent to one of the peaks surrounding the idyllic Ibón de Catieras, in the Pyrenean sector of Panticosa. We leave the vehicle at the Forronías parking lot and ascend the track of the La Ripera valley. After a good while, we abandon it and turn left (signs for Dedo de Yenefrito and Ibón de Catieras). We ascend the path passing by the base of Dedo de Yenefrito and reach Cuello de Yenefrito. We continue ascending the valley and when it begins to turn right, we cross a stream (sign for Ibón de Catieras). In switchbacks, we ascend the slopes of La Avanzada until reaching a sort of col that, turning right, leads us to the upper part of Barranco de Catieras. A horizontal path flanks it and after a short climb, we arrive at the secluded Ibón de Catieras.
