Video vlog of our one-day ascent to Polluce from Saint Jacques. (06.07.2025).
We depart from Saint Jacques at 2 AM to reach Punta Polluce (4092 m) in one day. With headlamps we reach rifugio Mezzalama first and then Rifugio Guide Val d’Ayas, cross the glacier and attack the final bastion of this aesthetic 4000. Through a nicely icy gully we reach the ridge and then climb some small walls using the famous chains. We touch the black Madonnina just below the summit and quickly reach the Punta via an easy ridge. Spectacular view of the nearby Castore and all surrounding mountains. A 24 km loop with +2500 m elevation gain.
