Church of Saint Nicholas in Bohinjska Bistrica
The parish of Saint Nicholas in Bohinjska Bistrica was established in 1788. Previously it belonged as a branch to the old parish of Srednja vas. As the old church was too small, they began thinking early on about building a new one. Only parish priest Janez Mesar succeeded in realizing this plan. For many years they collected voluntary contributions for the construction, for a long time preparing stone, bricks, and wood. Finally the joyful day arrived when the foundation stone was solemnly blessed.
