Video dedicated to the ascent of the 'Queen of the Dolomites', it was a pleasant return for me to this great mountain! It was a 3-day trip, given the length of the journey for us Ligurians (we are Genoese and residents of Genoa). First day ascent to Rifugio Pian dei Fiacconi from Lago della Fedaia by cable car (except Paolo, Fabiano and Elena who went on foot). Rifugio Pian dei Fiacconi - Ghiacciaio del Vernel - Forcella Marmolada and ascent to Punta Penia via the west ridge ferrata, descending the same route (while Fabiano and Paolo descended the normal route via the glacier, thus traversing this great mountain). Third day ascent to Monte Serauta via normal route, return to the refuge and then down to Lago Fedaia by cable car. Social trip of CAI Ligure Genova, organized by the undersigned with Fabiano Sciaccaluga. Participants: Davide Ircolo, Giorgio Testino, Elena Cazzagon, Paolo Aracri, Alessandro Tagliasco, Giorgio Intili, Jagoda Boruch. Difficulty: F to reach the base of the ferrata (glacier route on live ice). EEA/AD the west ridge ferrata (medium difficulty). Descent same route F+/PD. Elevation gain: about 1000 m including ups and downs. Base used: Rifugio Pian dei Fiacconi. Video in full HD1080p at 60 fps selectable for better viewing on PC or TV! Trip on 21 and 22-7-2017.
