Description:
Punta Sulè is a mountain in the Graian Alps (Autaret-Ovarda Group) 3384 m high, located in the municipality of Usseglio (TO). It is the highest elevation on the watershed ridge between the two valleys into which the upper part of Valle di Viù bifurcates: Peraciaval (north) and the one hosting Lago di Malciaussia (south). Northwest, Colle Sulè separates it from Testa Sulà (3073 m), while east, Colletto della Lera (3320 m) divides it from Monte Lera. Administratively in Usseglio (TO). On the summit above a large cairn is a small Christ statue, and nearby on another cairn a lightning rod. The view from the peak includes main Western Alps mountains: Argentera group, Viso, Dauphiné Alps, Blanc, Gran Paradiso, and Rosa. The usual ascent route from Lago di Malciaussia goes to Pian Sulè and follows the southwest ridge. Though quite long (about 1600 m gain), it requires no special mountaineering skills. Rated EE. The traverse from Monte Lera is mountaineering, F+. (source: Wikipedia)
