Description:
The ruins are a former hill castle in the present municipality of Luftenberg an der Donau and
are first mentioned in documents in 1125. The sparse remains of the once magnificent castle-like fortress lie behind the dominant, new and remarkably large castle from the 16th century. Remains of the ring wall and some masonry parts of the upper castle from the former fortification are still present today. Essential parts of the castle were demolished and used for the construction of the new castle.
