Description: According to assumptions, Rotenfels is the former castle 'Alt-Waxenberg', the predecessor of the current Waxenberg ruins. Around 1136, the castle was built by the free nobles Ulrich and Cholo von Wilhering. The records mention a 'Colo de Rodenfelse'.
