From Fara San Martino, park (paid) just above the springs of the Fiume Verde river. Follow a dirt section that, with some hairpin bends, leads to the entrance of the Gole di San Martino. The narrow passage, due to its size, is of great charm and fascination, among the most majestic valleys of the Majella. Exiting the narrow passage, proceed into a wide valley enclosed by imposing rocky walls where the remains of the Benedictine monastery of San Martino in Valle are located. Continuing a few hundred meters along the valley, you find Fonte di Vaiz Long and after a climb of just over 1 km, Fonte delle Vatarelle. Return along the same path and descending below the parking lot, visit the Sorgenti del Fiume Verde springs and see the facility of a well-known local pasta factory.
