Description: Very beautiful and popular panoramic mountain. Possibly it was a mix of a home-made apocalyptic catastrophe and the earth's natural restlessness when in September 1920 unimaginable 6-9 million cubic meters of rock, and thus part of the entire Sandling west face, thundered into the depths. Already in the Middle Ages, mining tunnels had been driven into the rock; combined with the incessant erosion of the earth, this likely released this tremendous explosive force. Huge scree fields, house-high limestone blocks in the middle of alpine meadows and the still visible traces of an almost 4 km long earth crevasse testify to this destructive primal force.
