Almost 500 km from Salamanca to Santiago de Compostela along the 'Camino Sanabrés or Camino Mozarabe', done in solitude: very few pilgrims along the sun-baked Castilian plains and Galician forests, in the time after St. James and August holidays. [July 18 - August 2, 2011] The route is full of tranquility and reflection. Hospitable people in small villages. Very cordial: always ready to help. Elderly who often emigrated to Switzerland use Italian words learned from our people. A feature distinguishing this path from the 'Francés' is the hardness of the stages, almost always over 30 km.
