Description:
Schauinsland is the local mountain of the Freiburgers, easily accessible by Germany's longest cabin circulation railway or by car up to below the mountain station of the railway.
Schauinsland is about 1285m high and is considered one of the most beautiful vantage point mountains in the Black Forest. In addition to the view into the Black Forest to the Hornisgrinde, you can also see the Rhine plain with the Kaiserstuhl mountains and the sister mountains in France, the Vosges. On beautiful and fairly clear days, the giants of the Swiss Alps in the south are clearly visible, such as the Eiger or the Jungfrau. But you can also be lucky in summer, as the video proves.
