The ascent to Schreckhorn is one of the most difficult and strenuous normal routes to a Swiss four-thousander. Even the wild romantic approach to Schreckhornhütte is exhausting. If one is physically and technically equipped for the tour, one is rewarded with magnificent climbing on compact but grippy gneiss and a breathtaking summit panorama.
