The Irish Countryside is awash with evidence of our rich history going back many thousands of years. One common illustration of this history is the ringfort. Typically a round structure often in some strategic location. Approximately 40,000 have been identified all across our island. These structures may variously represented living areas, safe areas for livestock and defensive areas, probably all of these depending on the site.
