History of the Refuge.
1966 – By the CAF of Gap, under the presidency of Doctor Louis ARNOUX. First construction, cost of works 210,000 FRF without interior equipment. Built in the Pelvoux Domainal Park at the place called 'Le Pigeonnier', under the Orient ridge. Financed 70% by the commission for youth and sports. Capacity 28 beds. 1970 - Roof reconstruction due to collapse of the framework under the weight of snow. In 1970 also, second phase of works for arranging a basement dormitory. The refuge's capacity increased to 42 beds.
