Description: A challenging circular trail that, starting from an old disused quarry for limestone extraction, ascends the Tremonti valley, so named because it is enclosed between Monti Sottano, Serra Tremonti and Rupe Cantenna on which the village of Trentinara lies, dubbed the 'terrace of Cilento'. According to a local claim, not supported by historical evidence, it was in the Tremonti valley that the rebel slave Spartacus fought his last battle in 76 BC against the Roman army. A short tour of approx. 10km and approx. 985m total elevation gain (uphill and downhill).
