Sigirino is a former municipality of 725 inhabitants in the Lugano district, since 2010 it forms with Bironico, Camignolo, Medeglia and Rivera the municipality of Monteceneri. Osignano is a fraction of Sigirino which is itself a fraction of Monteceneri and is located at the foot of the mountain, on the right slope of the valley. Osignano is among the 50 unknown pearls of Switzerland contained in the new Switzerland Tourism catalog. Overlooked by the more famous peaks of Monte Ferraro and with a view of Tamaro or the Lema region, Barro is a small mountain in the Vedeggio valley, located between Torricella and Sigirino. A hill that rises to 650 meters altitude and which can be reached from both sides, climbed and descended, or even circled around.
