Description:
As Slovenia's second-highest peak, Škrlatica rightly deserves the title Queen of the Slovenian mountains. Its name comes from the red-scarlet color of its rocks in some points, due to ferrous minerals. The ascent, though mainly hiking, is demanding due to the effort (about 1800 m gain) and some rocky passages, partly equipped.
