Piduruthalagala in Nuwara Eliya, is the highest point in Sri Lanka, which is 2,524m high. In just 20 minutes from the city, you can reach the entrance to the sanctuary. However, Sri Lankan government grant restricted permission to go up to the mountain since the summit of the mountain serves as the central point in the country's communication system. Therefore, plan ahead to obtain permission before arriving at the entrance.
