Description: In the early years of my photographic forays, I always tried to avoid people in my images. But that changed soon, I realized they are good for telling stories and so I began to look specifically for such situations. At the same time, I was confronted with the works of Harald Hauswald and it quickly became clear to me - Berlin's Alexanderplatz would be one of my favorite places. In addition - I have a special connection to it - that was my workplace in the 1980s. So I started visiting it regularly again. In this video, I show you a selection of recordings from the last 10 years. One more short note - everyone must decide for themselves how to deal with GDPR in this type of photography. Asking people beforehand - would make the project absurd in large parts - nevertheless I do it sometimes, just like asking afterwards - this usually arises from the situation because I am asked. I also mostly photograph with focal lengths from 35mm to 90mm - so the subject often notices that I am photographing them. If GDPR were taken strictly - there would be no documentation of street life from the past in the future. Furthermore, I am not a photographer who defines his street photography by constantly showing 'homeless' and 'disheveled' people. But the picture of Alexanderplatz would be incomplete and so these recordings are included - only in a vanishingly small number.
