During the ascent from Trilobit hut the snow looked quite unconsolidated and promising in the forest, immediately above the tree line however the effects of strong winds from previous days were visible. We observed a spontaneous slab avalanche that released across the entire slope on the NW Vajnsek ridge. We performed 2 snow profiles (plus Norwegian and Swiss tests) showing quite different results; on average some 30 cm surface slab that releases at medium speed.
