Description: It has caught my eye so many times, whether on the way to Dachstein or viewed from other mountain peaks, it stands there, imposing and steep - the Hochtausing! This time I go up too, steeply and partly very exposed along the east ridge! I am completely alone on the way and at the top I know why - the summit is definitely not reachable for everyone! It also costs me the highest concentration especially on the descent, but the panorama is simply stunning. You can see from Toten Gebirge, Haller Mauern, Gesäuse, Dachstein and much further! A short but very rewarding tour that requires a lot to get back down safely. You should only tackle this tour if it is dry, you are surefooted and free from vertigo. Warning: This path is NOT secured throughout!!!
