Rheinschlucht - Ruinaulta

The Rheinschlucht – wild gorges, rugged rocks

The Rheinschlucht (Ruinaulta) between Reichenau and Ilanz is not called the «Swiss Grand Canyon» without reason. It is one of the most spectacular landscapes in Graubünden and unique even in the Alps. In the wild gorges, you experience pure adrenaline while river rafting or hike along rugged rock formations. A well-maintained hiking trail and bike routes along the Rhine also offer great opportunities to grill, create stone figures or cool your feet. If you prefer it more comfortable, you can explore the Rheinschlucht by train or post bus.
