Description: Ski touring to Tamer Grande and south ridge of San Sebastiano
Departure at 6am from Malga Caleda, ascent to Val di Caleda via Troi del Portin never banal but almost completely snow-free. Ascent to Tamer Grande on compact snow with excellent grip (crampons almost unnecessary). Descent from summit at 9am on hard but well skiable snow. The slope is quite steep but the channel is nicely wide allowing good turns. Back to Val di Caleda, skis on back again and climb the channel that from the base of Forcella La Porta emerges just below the South Ridge of San Sebastiano, here too hard snow with good grip. Descent from summit on the south shoulder of San Sebastiano on moving firn to the funnel leading to Van delle Forzelete. Skin up to the hillock just below the South Ridge of San Sebastiano and enter the channel heading east back to Van di Caleda, emerging just below Forcella del San Sebastiano (controlled descent because avalanche damaged). From here excellent descent on snow starting to transform (around 11:30) until entering the path that brought us back to the car.
