Description:
Tematín is the ruin of a 13th-century castle in the Považský Inovec mountains. At 564 meters above sea level, it ranks among the higher-situated castles. The castle has fulfilled a signaling and guard function since its origin. Since 2007, the civic association Hrad Tematín has cared for Tematín Castle, carrying out numerous conservation and revitalization measures. It operates on a voluntary basis with funding from grants, donors and contributions.
