Description: The Taubensee, at 1138m altitude directly below the ridge of the Rauen Nadel, is one of the highest mountain lakes in Germany. It is only reachable on foot.
My hike started at the parking lot below the noteworthy Streichenkapelle near Schleching at about 750m altitude. On alpine roads and partly footpaths, it goes over Peteralm, Haideralm, Donaueralm to Chiemhauser Alm (Klosteralm), near which the Kroatensteig branches off. After a small vantage point on Holzschlagalm, it goes steeply to the ridge of Rauen Nadel at 1220m altitude and then steeply down to Taubensee at 1138m altitude.
