Description:
The via ferrata leads through the summit wall of the Routenwand directly to the highest point. The Frohnleitnerband was first ascended in 1987, it's practically a self-made via ferrata. Recently, numerous rumors and horror stories about the condition of this ferrata have circulated. The ascent follows an exciting route below the summit cross through the elongated Red Wall. The route was initially poorly secured, then even dismantled and finally renovated again. Attention: At the approach and exit, some meters in steep terrain still need to be overcome unsecured!
