Description: Monte Duranno (2668 m) is the second highest mountain of the Friulian Dolomites and due to its bold shapes is also locally called Becco dell’Oca. It appears pointed especially from west and east, broad and powerful from south or north. Obviously it is not possible to climb it by trail but requires mountaineering experience and rope use along a normal environmental route, logical and direct, posing maximum difficulties of III+. The normal route is also called “dei cacciatori ertani” because it was first ascended by the local hunters Sartor, Filippin and Martinelli.
