Start from rifugio Alto Matanna.
Coming from Garfagnana, follow the signs to Fabbriche di Vallico, then Palagnana, upon arriving at this village you will turn left (if you pay attention there is a wooden sign saying Matanna otherwise up there is a road sign saying Pescaglia), at the end of the climb you will find a bell tower and there you will turn all the way right, the road remains hidden so be careful, continue until you reach the parking lot of rifugio Alto Matanna.
