Description:
The Oderteich was considered Germany's largest reservoir from 1722, the year of its construction, until 1891/1899. Belonging to the Oberharzer Wasserregal, the maximum 30 ha body of water has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010. A circular trail of about 5 km, partly on boardwalks, leads around the lake.
