Description: The sandstone caves of Liebegg (Switzerland). Already more than 350 years ago, sandstone was quarried in Liebegg near Gränichen and the surrounding area. The most significant deposit was found here in the Liebegger Wald right next to Liebegg Castle. Stone blocks weighing up to 3 tons were transported from the old quarries. The construction of the Gränichen church, completed in 1663, significantly depleted the local rock deposits.
