All paths lead to Saut de Gouloux! After Lac des Settons, it's one of the big tourist hubs of Haut Morvan and a beautiful gateway to the Cure valley. You can get there by car of course, but on foot, it's even better! So I tested a loop itinerary starting from Saint-Brisson and the Maison du Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan to visit the famous waterfall. The opportunity to penetrate the secrets of the magnificent Morvan forests and encounter rivers, deer, and even a (fake) dolmen there. The finishing touch is Étang Taureau, the postcard of the Nivernais peat meadows, evoking the bygone era when Morvan wood floated to Paris. Top start for a 19-kilometer journey in the magic and coolness of the unmissable Breuil-Chenue forest!
