3rd Maribor uprising, as Maribor residents named the protest against Mayor Franc Kangler and demanding his resignation, after the peaceful part on Freedom Square and continuation in front of the municipal building, moved to the city streets. The violent part of the protesters, who threw pyrotechnic devices and stones at the municipal building and also at the police who did not react for a long time, clashed with the police on the city streets. A smaller part of the violent individuals pulled a larger crowd behind them, which attacked the police and threw firecrackers and granite cubes at them. Several police officers and protesters were injured, and several violent individuals were arrested. Peaceful protesters stood up for the police several times and expressed dissatisfaction with vandalism and violence, as considerable damage was also caused in the city of Maribor itself.
