Description: The Wilderness Trail through Eifel National Park lives up to its name: Narrow paths wind 85 kilometers through dense forests with fallen trees, over storm-swept heights, past streams, wildflower meadows and small villages. Tamina Kallert hikes the first of four stages through the wild Eifel, where nature can be nature again. On the almost 25 kilometers from Monschau-Höfen to Einruhr, Tamina Kallert repeatedly meets blogger Silvana Brangenberg and her mongrel Cabo. They spend the night together in the Star Park. An old acquaintance is Michael Lammertz from Eifel National Park, the inventor of the trail. He knows a forest area where the primeval forest is already recognizable. Even off the park's paths, Tamina Kallert discovers sights: She cycles around Lake Urftsee, visits Steinfeld Monastery, enjoys a Moroccan evening in the village of Schmidt and feels like an Amazon while archery near Hellenthal.
