Description:
Wimbachtal lies between Hochkalter and Watzmann massif. It is traversed by the Wimbach (underground in the Gries). Starting point is the hiking parking lot at Wimbachbrücke (signposted), endpoint is Wimbachgrieshütte. The hut, like the preceding Wimbachschloss (a former hunting lodge), is operated. Additionally, the Wimbachgrieshütte offers overnight stays for mountaineers and ski tourers.
