Description:
Ski touring to the Winnebachseehütte (2362 m.) in the Stubaier Alps, Tyrol. The starting point is at the hut car park in Gries bei Längenfeld, located at 1620 meters of altitude. Firstly you pass through the woods, then you pass the very small settlement of Winnebach and after gaining some elevation you reach Winnebachalp (2180 m.), where there is a small cabin. From here there are 180 meters of elevation left before reaching the beautifully located hut. The winter room has been renovated in 2021 and has 10 beds, a big table, a stove, kitchen tools and a toilet. Outside there is firewood and the ski depot. Between mid February to mid April, the hut is usually opened for hikers or ski mountaineers. Round trip of about 10 km and 800 meters of elevation gain.
