Today a cozy mountain hike through the autumnal Karwendel - family-friendly if you skip the summit. From Hinterriss up the Tortal to the Torscharte and then back to Hinterriss via the Rhontal. From the saddle to the Torkopf there are some slightly exposed sections; since you're mostly on grass slopes, caution is advised in wet conditions - nevertheless, the summit ascent poses no special requirements for sure-footed hikers. The hike in impressive nature is best started early in the morning, then you're almost alone; the Torscharte is not overcrowded, but well-visited at noon in brilliant weather.
