Description:
Punta Cunicolo, Vignole and Trentapassi... we go to our home mountains for a route unknown to most (of us): beautiful, wild, suitable for expert hikers. We park at Marone (Bs) towards the tunnel of the old Sebina state road. Immediately uphill skirting the rio Bagnadore. Then the Cai sign sends us along a gravel path. We pass the B&b 'El Giardì', there we ignore the start of trail no. 264: from experience we know the first stretch is not easy to identify. We continue past the 'santella' guarding the dirt road to Zone: there are signs. Then, a few hundred meters further, we take left the decisive uphill trail until meeting that 264. Always uphill! We pause briefly on the false summit to admire Punta Cunicolo (1035 m): it seems unreachable. But the trail – traced by ancient experience – with careful passages, unfolds (finally) on the limestone needle, two hours after our start. Stop, joy and photos... then we descend towards 'Forcellino del Gadol', from where – along ridges and saddles – we overcome 'Monte Vignole' (1095 m), to our goal: 'Corna Trentapassi' (1248 m), 3h40 from the start. The summit is very crowded, after all it's a nice day nestled between holidays. For the return we decide to take the trail (the easiest one) descending to Vello, a hamlet of Marone, connected to it by a long sidewalk and also lakeside of Lake Iseo.
