Description: The Tüfels Chilen near Winterthur (Switzerland), densely overgrown with moss and babbling water, presents itself to the hiker as a quiet place. r On a pleasant hike up through the Bäntal, one reaches the largest tuffstone deposit in the Canton of Zurich. Coming from the springs emerging from the moraine debris, lime-rich water flows over a 60-meter-high slope down into the Bäntal and precipitates lime in the air, which deposits as porous but very hard rock.
