The town of Castelnuovo Berardenga is located on the southern borders of Chianti Classico less than 20 km from Siena. The territory is between the Ombrone and Arbia rivers. The name Berardenga derives from Count Berardo of Frankish lineage, who lived in the second half of the 10th century.
