In the pre-season or after lift closure, the tour to Kellerjoch is a real insider tip. The relatively high starting point at about 1300m makes the tour feasible early in winter or still long into spring. In any case, you enjoy 'already' groomed pistes in those altitudes where snow is otherwise scarce, or in spring you can benefit from the long-lasting snow cover in the lower part. Without lift operation, the initial ascent in the ski area is not unpleasant either, and in about an hour you leave civilization anyway. The views both into the Tux Alps and the long Inntal as well as far into the eastern Alpine foreland make this ski tour a special experience.
