Description:
The long way to Hochvogel starts for us at the parking lot in Hinterstein. From there we take the bus to Giebelhaus (which is only reachable by line bus or on foot (ca. 10km)), where our actual hike begins. The first half of the tour, to Prinz-Luitpold-Haus, first follows a wide path that then turns into a normal hiking trail. After reaching the hut, a high rock wall rises in front of you that you must cross, and on its upper part there is a small via ferrata. After crossing the ridge, it goes past Kreuzspitze and again, with quite demanding scrambling downhill until you devote yourself to the last ascent to Hochvogel. This leads over loose rock and an easy path up to the summit. Once at the top, a mighty panorama opens up, and very large rock crevices. The descent is the same as the ascent.
