Description: The tour starts at a small parking lot on the right side of the road at Julier Pass. From there, the signage for the path to the Julier summit also begins. At first, the path starts very steeply and leads to a first plateau, from which one is directly led into the next steep section. Now the path leads to a small hill to avoid the small gorge through which a stream flows. After passing the hill, one must descend a few meters again and briefly cross the 'gorge'. From there, it is only a few steep meters to Fuorcla Albana. The view from there to Sankt Moritz and into the valley is already worthwhile! Now the serious part of the tour begins. The first minutes are more or less just scrambling spots that become increasingly demanding over time. At the more difficult spots, metal chains are attached to hold on to. At some points, very narrow ridges must be crossed, for which one needs sufficient freedom from vertigo. Furthermore, there are many steep exposed sections that one passes. The apparent summit, which one is now approaching faster and faster, is unfortunately not the destination. When one reaches this point, the goal is already within reach! Now one must descend once more and climb up again to the summit of Piz Julier. There was quite a lot of snow during our tour, which we were not quite prepared for and therefore did not bring crampons. Thus, the last part was a rather strenuous and slow part of the tour. From the summit, a magnificent panorama unfolds (unfortunately not quite so magnificent for us, as we were in the clouds).
