Description: We leave the car in Cimbergo, in the clearing where the two mule tracks branch off leading to the 'Volano' locality: one called 'Tagliafuoco' and then the traditional one, currently interrupted for laying a water pipe. Thus, after an hour of walking we pass said locality and take the former paths and mule tracks of the 'Great War' which, with a slow route, rise towards the magnificent peaks of the 'Conca del Volano'. A hundred years ago they were armed as 'reserve front': the operational one began beyond the 'Valle di Dois'; where we overlook reaching the goal of our hike: the 'Passo di Mezzamalga' (2332 m). On the path our friend Emilio is already waiting for us, who has the hut here, and wanted to share his time and his... hospitality with us. Thus at 11:15 the whole group is at 'Passo di Mezzamalga,' illuminated by the warm light of autumn sun that emphasizes the majesty of these mountains, especially the nearby 'Pizzo Badile Camuno'.
