Description:
The Košuta massif is the most powerful and most homogeneous massif in the central part of the Karawanks. It is about 10 km long and has six large independent peaks over 2000 m high. It begins in the west above Ljubelj and extends to the Kokrški potok in the east via Veliki Vrh, Kofce and Kladivo. It reaches its highest point at Košutnikov turn (2133 m a.s.l.). There are mostly no deep saddles between the peaks. The northern Austrian side is undercut along its entire length into a huge wall that plunges into the valley.
