Risør is a historic, well-preserved wooden house town with an offshore island group, a long wooden boat tradition and many festivals. The town of Risør is located on the east coast of southern Norway and is known for cultural festivals, archipelagos, wooden boat production and traditional white-painted wooden houses. The town was built about 150 years ago in Swiss style. The local Baroque church dates from 1647.
