Description: The Weichtalklamm gorge is located SW of Schneeberg. It belongs to the popular gorges and a marked „trail“ (red) of difficulty A/B runs through it. There are several secured spots with chains and steel cables supplemented by metal ladders. Via ferrata gear is not required. However, it also has its hazards such as occasional falling rocks dislodged by wildlife or people returning via the yellow trail along the gorge or persistent snow in the deeply incised walls of the gorge. It is not uncommon to meet locals wearing helmets. Entry to the gorge is from the Weichtalhaus hut (563 m) and it ends at the seasonal Kienthalerhütte hut (1380 m). Near the hut is a short 35 m ferrata Turmstein Ostkante-Klettersteig (C).
