Description: Hiking vacation in the Zillertal offers wide views of majestic three-thousand-meter peaks, green meadows, deep valley basins and pretty villages. Tamina Kallert travels through the Austrian Alps from Zell am Ziller to Mayrhofen. She hikes and cycles along the Ziller and experiences sporting adventures, for example in the Gerolstein area she hurtles headfirst through the landscape at 50 km/h with the Almflieger. Pure wellness: at the Krimml Waterfalls she inhales health-promoting spray mist. On the Ahornspitz plateau she meets mountaineering legend Peter Habeler. Tamina Kallert finds original Tyrolean life at the Kreuzjoch hut with speck pancakes and live music as well as on a herb hike with schnapps distiller Helene Kreidl. Up to the summits she usually takes a gondola; down from the mountain sometimes by paraglider.
